Recomposed wood

The supply of ayous in Cameroon: an example of forest management with a low environmental impact. As an operator in the wood sector, Alpi S.p.A. is particularly sensitive to the preservation of raw material resources (wood is a renewable resource) and has always acted in compliance with the regulations on environmental protection in force in the countries in which it operates. For the production of multilaminar wood, Alpi S.p.A. uses both poplar from Italian plantations (whose origin is SGS certified) and ayous (Triplochiton scleroxylon), also called obeche or samba, a very common plant species grown in a wide distributional area of tropical African. The supply of raw materials occurs through Alpicam and Grumcam, the subsidiaries of Alpi S.p.A. in Cameroon which operate in compliance with the forest regulations in force there (Law no. 94/01 - Decree 95/531 and subsequent amendments), which requires the drafting of a detailed forest management plan.
